Drugs for bugs: beating AMR

Last month we discussed the rise in antimicrobial resistance (AMR), the increase in agricultural antimicrobial usage (up 67% by 2030 to 100,000 tons/year) and the threat of AMR to our health and food production.

Now we look at approaches to developing new antimicrobials. These new drugs will transform the way we treat bacterial infections in humans and animals, giving us tools to combat AMR.
