Corporate Mission

Pacific Edge Biotechnology is a biomedical company specialising in the discovery, development and commercialisation of diagnostics for cancer - specifically for gastric, bladder, colorectal, melanoma and endometrial cancers. Our mission is to provide accurate diagnostic and prognostic assays for early detection and monitoring of cancer.

Proprietary Technology

Pacific Edge Biotechnology has full technical capability to discover and develop diagnostic and prognostic tools for clinical use to enable early detection and the subsequent disease progression monitoring of targeted cancers. We have state-of-the-art microarray and qPCR platforms, and broad experience in antibody arrays, histopathology, cell culture, protein FPLC, protein purification and immuno-assays, Bioinformatics, assay development, validation and commercialisation.

Pacific Edge has a world-wide network of scientific and clinical relationships and alliances including; BIORAD (San Francisco); Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Centre (New York); Lerner Research Institute (Ohio); MorphoSys (Munich); Technical Institute of Munich; Kyoto School of Medicine; Medigen Biotechnology Corp. (Taiwan); Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (Melbourne).

Intellectual Property Status

Pacific Edge Biotechnology currently has 13 Patent Applications in process in the field of micro arrays, oncology, complex data analysis, diagnostics and prognostics. Four patents have been issued, including the recent issue of the Company's patent in Singapore for bladder cancer diagnostic and prognostic technology, which enables the early detection of bladder cancer and determination of severity and stage and grade from a small volume of urine. Two clinical trials are nearing completion, the bladder cancer technology and the colorectal prognostic signature. It is anticipated that the bladder cancer technology will be released to the Australasian urologists on 20th February 2010.

Recent Highlights

Highlight One
Pacific Edge has recently been issued a patent in Singapore for the Company’s bladder cancer diagnostic technology. A multi-centre international clinical trial for the diagnostic and prognostic test for bladder cancer is currently underway. Recruitment of the target number of patients has been achieved and analysis will be completed by late December 2009. Pacific Edge have completed the development of a retail laboratory and anticipate offering service to Australasian urologists in late February 2010.

Highlight One
