Specialties:
Izon has developed and patented a tunable nanopore technology that has applications across a broad range of nanoparticle analysis requirements. Synthetic and biological particles can be measured in the size range from 50nm to 1000nm+.
Products and Services:
Izon’s Scanning Ion Occlusion Spectroscopy (SIOS) platform is a technology for detecting, measuring and controlling nano-particles down to the molecular scale. Two instruments based on this platform are currently available.

• qViro is a virus counting instrument which provides previously unavailable capability to count individual virus particles in real-time.

• qNano is a nanoparticle research instrument which provides analysis capability including relative size distribution of nanoparticles in real-time.
Business Services:
Collaborations:
Izon has research partnerships with key institutions and individuals around the world. These include AIBN at the University of Queensland, Oxford University, AIST in Japan, MIT, University of California (Santa Cruz), and a number of universities and crown research institutes within New Zealand.

Profile

Izon Science Limited (Izon) is a New Zealand based nanotechnology company focused on detection, measurement, analysis and single particle control at the nanoscale.

Since commencement in early 2005, Izon has developed the science, hardware and software to fabricate and control dynamically resizable nanopores. Izon’s nanopores can be opened, closed and changed in size in real time - this real-time tunability is a unique feature of the Izon technology platform, called SIOS (Scanning Ion Occlusion Spectroscopy).

Izon’s flexible nanopore platform is world-leading in offering a portable, affordable, robust and highly flexible technology for particle detection, quantitation and characterisation at the nanoscale across a wide range of applications, including:
• Virus detection and quantitation
• Nanoparticle measurement (relative size, charge, geometry)
• Immunodetection
• Molecular Diagnostics
• Biomolecule analysis
• Environmental monitoring
