NZBIO & Telecom connect NZ biotech with the world 01 Jul 2004

NZBio and Telecom will be connecting New Zealand biotech companies with the world at BIO 2004, the premier biotech convention in San Francisco from 6-9 June, NZBio Chief Executive Officer Dr Brian Ward said today.

“With Telecom’s video conferencing facilities set up at BIO 2004 and at strategic local points, we will be able to connect conference-goers in San Francisco with potential partners in New Zealand.

“NZBio is excited to be taking part in the world’s largest biotech event, and to be able to demonstrate the advantages of doing business with New Zealand biotech companies.

“We may be physically remote, but technology is increasingly bringing New Zealand closer to the world’s markets. The opportunity this facility presents for our biotech industry cannot be underestimated.

“This is New Zealand’s chance to impress BIO 2004’s expected audience of over 16,000 international biotech executives, investors, journalists, and policy makers with our agility and speed,” Dr Ward concluded.
